Mob beats man to death over alleged rape and murder of 7-year-old girl in Faridpur
The girl's body, entangled in electrical wire, was recovered from a bag inside Shahin’s house
A man, accused of raping and murdering a 7-year-old girl, was beaten to death by an angry mob in Faridpur today (11 December).
The incident took place in the Charnasirpur area of Faridpur Sadar this evening, according to police and family members of the deceased girl.
The dead man has been identified as Shahin aka Haider Mollah, 55, while the minor girl has been identified as Tahia, daughter of Ziarat Ali. They were neighbours.

Tahia's body was recovered from Shahin's room.
Faridpur police said they had detained Shahin but the mob snatched him from police custody and beat him to death.
"Tahiya went missing while playing near the house around 4:00pm on Tuesday. Her father filed a general diary with the Kotowali Police Station on 10 December. The police launched a search operation this afternoon and recovered Tahiya's body, entangled in electrical wire, from a bag inside Shahin's house," Tahia's maternal aunt Sabina Yasmin told The Business Standard.
"The police team came to investigate the area in search of the missing baby girl. During the police investigation, the neighbour Shahin appeared suspicious. Tahiya's body was recovered from his house later and detained him," said Kotowali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Asaduzzaman said.
