RAB chief suggests special force to fight organised crimes
"There should be a special force alongside the regular one in any name like in many countries across the globe to curb specially organized crimes like militancy and terrorism," he said
The Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Md Shahidur Rahman has suggested forming a special force in any name to fight organised crimes such as terrorism and militancy.
"There should be a special force alongside the regular one in any name like in many countries across the globe to curb specially organised crimes like militancy and terrorism," he said.
The RAB chief made the remarks when BSS approached him for his comment about the suggestion of disbanding the RAB, a security force accused of being involved in extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, by the Commission on Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.
The RAB is currently under US sanctions for serious human rights violations.
The five-member commission led by retired justice Mainul Islam Chowdhury handed over the report titled "Unfolding The Truth" to Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna here on Saturday.
