Two suspended Rangpur cops arrested over Abu Sayeed's murder
The police have arrested two suspended cops, accused in the murder case of Abu Sayeed, a student of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, who was shot dead on 16 July during the quota reform protests.
The arrestees are ASI Amir Hosain and constable Sujan Chandra of Tajhat Police Station in Rangpur.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali told Prothom Alo that the arrestees were handed over to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in the case registered at Tajhat Police Station on court orders.

Earlier on 19 August, Abu Sayeed's elder brother Ramzan Ali filed the murder case in the court of Rangpur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed.
In the case statement, the plaintiff mentioned that Abu Sayeed was one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in Rangpur.
