Guinness Book acknowledges crop field mosaic of Bangabandhu
The previous record for largest crop field mosaic was held by China
The Guinness World Records website formally published the recognition of Bangabandhu's biggest portrait as the largest crop field mosaic on Tuesday, said Farmers' League President Shamir Chandra.
The work of making the image of the father of the nation on paddy went on in Balenda village of Sherpur upazila of Bogura's Shibganj. The organisers hoped that it would be included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest crop field mosaic.
"We officially got this information at around 5:30-6 pm; detailed information may be uploaded on the website in a day or two," Said Shamir Chandra.
On the occasion of Mujib's centenary, Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad started preparations for this work on 105 bighas of land, two months ago, in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation, National Agricare.
Expressive Communications Ltd has done all the designs and executions of the project funded by the National Agricare Group.
Recently, a delegation from the Guinness Book of World Records visited Bangabandhu's portrait at Balenda village in Sherpur upazila of Bogra on 9 March.
This is a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Crop Field Mosaic (image) of a national leader. The previous record was held by China.
