Russian national dies 'drinking excessive liquor' in Rajshahi

A Russian citizen has died reportedly drinking excessive alcohol in Rajshahi.
The deceased Sergei Smolnikov, 43, was a labourer of Rooppur nuclear power plant (RNPP) project.
He breathed his last while being treated at CDM Hospital in Rajshahi around 5:30 pm on Thursday.
CDM Hospital Director, Dr Twaki Chowdhury said, "He was brought from Ishwardi and was admitted to our hospital at around 5:15pm. We all tried our best to save him, but his condition deteriorated very fast and he could not be saved."
Dr Twaki added that those, who came with Sergei, told him that Sergei had been drinking for the last four days straight. He did not eat any other food during the time.
His body has been sent to the morgue of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
