DNCC removes 20 illegal ramps from footpaths

At least 20 illegal ramps were evicted from Salimullah Road in the city's Mohammadpur on Wednesday.

According to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), the authority conducted the drive and removed a steel ramp from the footpath in front of the 7/5 holding under Zone-6.
Although the house owner was informed several times in this regard, he did not remove the ramp.
Similarly, other ramps were removed from footpaths of different areas ease public movement.
At the same time, DNCC also conducted mobile courts at Uttara's Sonargaon Janapad Road and Shah Makhdum Road areas to ensure that the people wear masks outdoors.
During the drives, the authority created awareness about wearing masks among the pedestrians, commuters, and shop owners in these areas.
They also distributed 70 masks to the people and fined 1,700 others in eight cases.
Another mobile court drive, led by Abdullah Al Baki, regional executive officer of Zone-3, created public awareness in Mohakhali Bus Stop area and distributed 50 masks and fined Tk300 each to four persons.
