Dr ABM Abdullah’s wife passes away
Former faculty of the Tejgaon College Social Welfare Department and Prime Minister's personal physician Prof Dr ABM Abdullah's wife Prof Mahmuda Begum has passed away.
She breathed her last at around 2:20pm on Tuesday at Green Life Medical College Hospital in the capital.
Earlier, Mahmuda Begum recovered from Covid-19. However, she succumbed to complications due to pneumonia, septicemia and septic shock.
She had been put on life-support since Friday night, Green Life Medical College Hospital authority confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Earlier, Dr ABM Abdullah and his wife were admitted to Green Life Medical College Hospital on 22 December after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.
Although Dr Abdullah gradually recovered, his wife Mahmuda Begum was diagnosed with a serious lung infection and at one stage she was taken to the ICU.
Last Friday, after experiencing severe breathing problems, Mahmuda Begum was given high-flow oxygen and later she was put on life support.
