69 pc student absent from online classes: Study
CAMPE proposed to start reopening the schools accordingly within February and March
Among the primary and secondary level students across the country, around 69 percent were unable to attend the online education activities such as online classes during the pandemic, according to research published on Tuesday.
Also, 58 percent of the students did not have the means to join the activities as they lack capable devices.
The report containing the figures titled "Interim Report: Reopening School, When and How?" was published by Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) in a virtual seminar.

The CAMPE research was conducted on 992 students, guardians, school officials and NGO workers of 21 upazilas in eight districts of eight divisions.
It also revealed that 75 percent of the students want to return to regular schooling.
The research result showed that 76 percent of the parents, 73 percent of school officials and 80 percent NGO workers think that schools should reopen now.
CAMPE proposed to start reopening the schools accordingly within February and March. The organisation also urged to reopen the schools in the rural areas first followed by those in cities across the country.
