Students' Adviser of the university Dr Md Solaiman Ali Fakir told The Business Standard the female student of the university brought an allegation of sexual harassment against the four students.
"The university has suspended the students temporally as they were found guilty in primary investigation. We will expel them if they are found involved in sexual harassment," the students' adviser said.
The university also formed a five-member committee to investigate allegations of the sexual harassment. Professor Dr AKM Zakir Hossain of Department of Crop Botany has been made the convener of the committee.
The committee has been asked to submit the report within five working days.
In the written complaint, the victim said on her way to return to the campus from the bank of a nearby river, the four students hurled abusive words at her and tried to violate her. When she protested and requested other students to save her, the alleged students managed to escape the spot.
