English medium students seek PM's intervention for canceling upcoming exams

The students of English medium schools have sought prime minister's intervention in cancelling the upcoming O level and A level examinations.
They said the coronavirus will spread out and it will be life threatening if they take part in the examinations amid current Covid-19 situation.
The students made the remark in a press conference at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Wednesday.

Simran Chowdhury, who read out the written statement, said, "The British Council has sought the Education Ministry's permission to hold the O level and A level examinations. The examinations will commence if the ministry approves.
"The coronavirus pandemic is still spreading in Bangladesh. Many people are being infected and dying every day. We also could be infected if we take part in the examination. Even our guardians and relatives will also be infected," the written statement read.
"All the public examinations have been on halt now. But only the British Council wants to take examinations. Even we are not prepared both mentally and physically to sit for the exams," it added.
"The online classes are new to us. It is not a substitute to the physical classes. We could not learn properly from the online classes. So, we will not get our desired results if the exams are held now."
