Timely printing, binding, distribution, and supply of textbooks is a top priority for the government, Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud said today (19 December).
"The printing of primary school textbooks is progressing well and will be distributed among students on time," he said at a progress review meeting on textbook-related activities held at the Secondary and Higher Education Department at the Secretariat.
However, he said the printing of textbooks for higher secondary classes has been slightly delayed.

He directed the authorities concerned to speed up the process to ensure these books are also distributed promptly.
During the meeting, press owners raised several issues they were facing.
In response, the education adviser assured them that their concerns would be addressed quickly.
