Public universities to introduce online classes

The vice-chancellors of public universities in the country have agreed to introduce online classes amid coronavirus situation to reduce possible session jam.
They have given their consent at a meeting with the University Grants Commission (UGC ) today.
But they decided not to hold any examination until the Covid-19 situation returns to normalcy.
Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed told The Business Standard that every vice chancellors agreed to start the online classes.
"We have asked the UGC for providing free internet facilities and smartphones to the students. The UGC chairman assured us saying that he will talk to the Education Ministry in this regard," he said.
Actually it is an emergency to begin online classes as early as possible. Although SUST began it since March, he added.
