State University’s new project ‘Prantik Proser’
State University of Bangladesh (SUB) has recently undertaken a project called Prantik Proser to create opportunities for higher education for rural and socially disadvantaged students.
The main objective of Prantik Proser is to support the students of the rural backward classes who are interested in getting higher education but cannot pursue it due to lack of financial resources. Under the project, the country is being divided into 32 groups and the work of collecting meritorious students is underway. There has already been a massive response to the project's activities. It is expected that a significant number of students will be admitted to the SUB under Prantik Proser during the current Spring Semester 2021.
Under the prevailing socio-economic structure of Bangladesh, students from affluent families are mainly studying in private universities. But the State University of Bangladesh is also interested in going beyond the conventional concept.
The Prantik Proser has been being implemented under the coordination of the Career Development Center (CDC) of SUB while Dr A M Shamim, President, Dr Mahbubur Rahman, Vice President & Dr Md Anwarul Kabir, Vice-Chancellor has been working as the main patrons and supervisors.
