Rampal power plant’s second unit begins trial run
The second unit of the coal-based power plant will generate 400 MW of electricity at the beginning of the trial production
The second unit of the coal-based Rampal Thermal Power Plant in Bagerhat began power generation on a trial basis today.
It will generate 400 MW of electricity at the beginning of the trial production, said Anwarul Azim, deputy general manager of the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), on Tuesday (24 October).
On 17 December 2022, the first unit of the thermal power plant started operations.
Despite several closures since then, the power plant's first unit is currently operational.
The power generation capacity of the two-unit power plant is 1,320 MW.
