E-seminar held at IUBAT on World Environment Day
IUBAT Institute of SDG Studies (IISS), Centre for Global Environmental Culture host of RCE Greater Dhaka organised an online seminar to celebrate World Environment Day on Saturday.
The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is "Ecosystem Restoration".
Prof Dr Hamida Akhtar Begum welcomed the guests. Prof Dr Mohammed Ataur Rhaman, director of IISS, delivered the keynote speech on Landscape Management for Ecosystem Restoration and Climate Action.
Following that Dr Muhammad Rehan Dastagir, deputy director of IISS delivered on Soil Modeling and Data Science.
Dr Ferdous Ahmed, assistant director of IISS presented on awareness building on lightning disaster.
Dr Sayma Akhter presented on protected forest areas.
Among youth Sanjida Sayed told about her initiative on IUBAT Earth Chapter and Shahriar Abir, President RCE Greater Dhaka Youth Forum spoke in the seminar.
Prof Dr Zeeda Fatimah Binti Mohamad, University of Malaya, Malaysia gave a speech as Special Guest on role of university campus on ecosystem restoration.
Prof Dr Golam Sabbir Sattar, director of Institute of Environmental Science (IES), Rajshahi University gave the speech as Chief Guest. Prof Dr Abdur Rab, vice chancellor presided over the seminar.
