Rain sweeps capital, causes waterlogging in some areas
Continuous rain since morning has led to waterlogging in some parts of the capital today (26 September), causing significant disruption.
The waterlogging has resulted in heavy traffic congestion across many areas of Dhaka.
Office goers and school children were seen struggling to commute amidst the flooding and traffic jams.
In the Green Road area, ankle-deep water covered the main streets, adding to the commuting woes of residents.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) had also forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty wind over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The country's highest 104mm rainfall was recorded in Kumarkhali in 24 hours till 6am today.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
