ERF concerned over journalists’ accreditation cancellation
ERF says the decision contradicts the government’s commitment to support free journalism and information flow, as previously stated by top leaders
The Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) has raised concern over the cancellation of accreditation cards for 118 journalists, including 10 permanent ERF members, by the Press Information Department (PID) on 7 November.
ERF President Rafayet Ullah Mirdha and General Secretary Abul Kashem urged the government to reinstate the cards immediately, stating, "ERF members responsibly cover various events at the Secretariat; revoking their cards hinders independent journalism."
They added that the decision contradicts the government's commitment to support free journalism and information flow, as previously stated by top leaders.
