Every attack will only unite us more: Hasnat
Every attack on the student leaders would unite them more, making them stronger with renewed vigor, said Hasnat Abdullah.
He made the remarks during a press conference held at the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement office in the capital's Banglamotor yesterday.
Hasnat, a coordinator of the platform, said, "If anyone thinks they can suppress our spirit of revolution by attacking us, they are wrong. We will only grow stronger, and we will not back down. Every attack on us will only unite us more forcefully."
The press conference was organised to protest the attack and vandalism of the student leaders' cars by muggers on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sonargaon upazila, Narayanganj.
The student leader added that the attack was a "complete failure of intelligence" and demanded accountability for those involved.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Mograpara area around 2am yesterday as the student leaders were traveling to Bandarban's Lama for an event.
Hasnat shared details of the incident on social media, claiming the attackers stole their bags and mobile phones and many were injured.
Hasnat also criticised the interim government's actions, saying, "In the past, when BNP, Jamaat, or Chhatra Dal organised protests, the police arrested their leaders. They weren't allowed to live peacefully at home.
"But now we see that members of the ruling Awami League and their student wing, Chhatra League, along with terrorists, roam freely and engage in corruption without facing any punishment."
He added, "If the administration and intelligence agencies believe they can ignore their role, they are mistaken. We will find alternative solutions if needed."
