Ex-home minister's son Jyoti sent to jail in murder case

A Dhaka court today (3 October) sent Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, to jail in a case filed over the killing of garment worker Ashraful Islam in Ashulia area.
Dhaka Additional Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order as police produced Jyoti before the court after end of his three-day remand in the case.
Earlier, Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum on 29 September placed him on three-day remand in the case.

Jyoti was arrested from the city's Uttara area on 14 September and was placed on four-day remand in an attempt to murder case filed with the Ashulia Police Station.
