Father ‘kills’ newborn ‘for being girl’ in Barguna

A body of a 40-day old baby girl was recovered from canal in Barguna's Amtoli area on Thursday.
According to local people, father Jahangir Shikdar allegedly threw her into the canal in anger for being a girl. The couple have two other girls name Sohagi, 9 and Jannati, 3.
Officer-in-Charge of Amtali Police Station Abul Bashar said the body was sent to a hospital for autopsy.

However, mother Shima filed a case accusing unidentified people. Meanwhile, police are interrogating the father.
