Paturia-Daulatdia ferry service resumes after 9 hours
Waiting vehicles have started crossing the busiest Paturia-Daulatdia route
Authorities have resumed ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route after a nine-and-a-half-hour shutdown due to dense fog.
Since the ferry services have become normal, waiting vehicles have started crossing the busiest Paturia-Daulatdia route. Ferry service resumed from 9:30 am today.
Earlier, the ferry service was suspended from 12 midnight on Sunday due to heavy fog, said Zillur Rahman, deputy general manager, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office.
In Manikganj, authorities suspended the service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking lights became dim as the fog thickened on Sunday evening.
Later, when the fog subsided around 9:30 am, the ferry service was resumed.
