A 140-kilogram fish, locally known as Koibal, has been sold for Tk130,000 at Rupsha wholesale fisheries market in Khulna.
Ninety local businessmen have bought the fish from a fisherman named Vupal who brought the fish to the market on Monday.
Md Ramadan Ali Howlader, Executive Director of Rupsha Wholesale Fisheries Market Committee, said, "This type of big fish is very rare. We, 90 persons, bought the fish together and cut it in the market and shared it.

Vupal said he caught the fish in the Bay of Bengal three days ago and brought it to the Rupsha wholesale fisheries market for getting a high price. "Excited people crowded around the fish to see it."
