Five including three Nigerians held in Feni
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday night detained five persons including three Nigerians from Feni’s Parshuram upazila. The arrestees were attempting to intrude into neighbouring India.
The Nigerian citizens were identified as Ikbozanu, 36 (passport number A 07172961), Egbo, 47, (passport number A 10168716) and Isydizu, 36, (passport number A 10377455). The other two are Bangladeshis nationals identified as Sabur Mia, 37, and Imam Hosen, 37. They have been handed over to Parshuram Police Station.
Feni-based BGB Battalion-4 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Md Nahiduzzaman said, being tipped off a patrol team of the BGB held them and seized the private car they were travelling by.
“Though the Nigerian nationals had passports with Bangladeshi visas, they had no documents to travel to India,” said the BGB official. The BGB, moreover, seized $2300, Tk17,200 and two laptops from their possession.
