“He wants to join the department after the Durga Puja vacation is over”
Khondoker Nasiruddin, who resigned from the post of the vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University on Monday, applied to join his previous position as a professor at Bangladesh Agricultural University on Tuesday.
Professor Md Shahidul Islam, chair of biotechnology department at Bangladesh Agricultural University, told The Business Standard that Nasiruddin had submitted a joining letter in the morning.
"He wants to join the department after the Durga Puja vacation is over," Shahidul Islam said.
The Business Standard tried to contact Nasiruddin over the phone. But he could not be reached after repeated attempts.
Professor Khondoker Md Nasiruddin submitted his resignation letter to education ministry amid protests demanding his removal.
He is accused of corruption, autocratic behaviour, sexual abuse, misuse of power and other irregularities.
Nasiruddin had been serving as the vice-chancellor of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University in Gopalganj since February 2015.
