Govt cancels appointment of 6 PSC members

The government has cancelled the appointment of six members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification today (13 January) in this regard.
The members are Professor Dr Shahnaz Sarker, Md Munir Hossain, Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AF Jaglul Ahmed, Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, Sabbir Ahmad Chowdhury and Professor Dr Syeda Shahina Sobhan.

According to the notification, the six members of the BPSC had not yet taken their oaths.
It said their appointments were cancelled after formal approval from the president.
The members were appointed on 2 January.
Yesterday, a group of Dhaka University students issued a 24-hour ultimatum to cancel the appointment of the six PSC members.
