Grameenphone Accelerator launches 6th Batch of startups
Nine companies were selected as Batch 6 in the GPA program.
The sixth batch of Grameenphone Accelerator Program (GPA) for startups began November 6 at GP House in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.
The GPA is a 4.5-month-long program, designed to select the best startups who will be able to leverage GPA resources to accelerate their companies.
Forty-five teams were called for interviews from which thirty-five startups got selected for further rounds of assessment and pitch presentations. Among these startups, nine companies were selected as Batch 6 in the GPA program.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Division, in the event said, "Within 2021, more than one million jobs will be created and these start-ups will be one of the catalysts in achieving our goal. The government will continue its support for these youth".
Michael Foley, CEO of Grameenphone said, "In this era of digitization, it is important for us to step up and be a part of the change that is inevitable. Through GP Accelerator, we are trying to help the developers, innovators, and startups of Bangladesh."
"Together with the startup ecosystem in Bangladesh, we are working towards one shared vision: putting Bangladesh on the global startup map," Pierre Alain Masson, Co-founder of Seedstars, the operating partner of GPA, said in the event.
