Hamdard observes International Mother Language Day and Mujib Year
The event’s chief guest AKM Shahjahan Kamal started his speech while paying due respect to the language martyrs
Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh recently organised a discussion session and dua mahfil at its headquarters in the capital to observe the Language Martyrs' Day, the International Mother Language Day and the Mujib Year, said a press release.
Former Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal was present as the chief guest at the memorial event while Chairman of the Board of Trustees Kazi Golam Rahman was the special guest of the event.
Dr Hakim Yusuf Harun Bhuiyan, managing director of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh Ltd and founder of Hamdard University Bangladesh chaired the discussion session at the event.
Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University Bangladesh Professor Dr Md Abdul Mannan, Deputy Managing Director of Hamdard Bangladesh Mohammad Jamal Uddin Rasel were also present at the event along with other senior officials of the company.

He said that the government has declared the current year as "Mujib Year" to highlight the importance of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the coming March 17.
We are indebted to him eternally for his sacrifices to free the country. Had he not taken birth on March 17 about a century ago, we would not have been liberated and the country would not have achieved the economic independence it now enjoys.
Dr Hakim Mohammad Yusuf Harun Bhuiyan, in his speech said that the Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh has been working tirelessly to help build the prosperous land Bangabandhu dreamt of.
To help implement the vision of Bangabandhu, the Hamdard Bangladesh has already established Hamdard University, Hamdard Public College, Hamdard Unani Medical College and Hospital, Rawshan Jahan Eastern Medical College and Hospital and Hakim Said Eastern Medical College and Hospital, Dr Hakim Mohammad Yusuf added.
Afterwards, the officials and distinguished guests of the event, prayed for the peace of the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the language martyrs.
