Hasina, Shamim Osman sued for murder of transport worker in Narayanganj
A murder case was filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former MP Shamim Osman and 307 others over the killing of transport worker Joni, 17, in Narayanganj.
Victim's father Yeasin filed the case with Sonargaon Police Station this (20 August) afternoon, Officer-in-Charge SM Kamruzzaman told The Business Standard.
Other accused in the case include former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former MPs Shamim Osman, Nazrul Islam Babu, Golam Dastagir Gazi and Abdullah Al Qaiser Hasnat.
According to the case statement, Jony was as a bus helper. On 20 July, leaders of the Awami League and associate organisations, armed with pistols, shotguns, cocktails, and sticks, blocked traffic in front of Kachampur Nursery. During the incident, they opened fire and attacked the students. Jony was shot twice in the chest and died on the spot.
