Free eye screening camp for ethnic minority people in Bandarban
Apart from free eye care, medicines are also distributed among patients in the camp
Bangladesh Army's 24 Infantry Division has arranged a free eye screening camp for ethnic minority people in Bandarban district.
Under the programme, 171 people from different ethnic minorities including Murong, Tripura, Chakma, Marma, Tanchangya received free eye care on Tuesday, said a press release.
Apart from free eye care, medicines are also distributed among patients in the programme. The eye camp organisers also recorded addresses of patients for distribution of spectacles and further contact with the patients for better treatment if required.
The 7 Field Ambulance under Bangladesh Army's Bandarban Region and Lions Club, Chattogram coordinated the day-long campaign.
Region Commander, Bandarban Region Brigadier General Md Ziaul Haque, Acting Captain, 7 Field Ambulance Major Muhammad Anwarul Haque, Lion Noor Muhammad Babu of Lion's Club Chattogram and experienced doctors of Chattogram Lion's Eye Hospital attended the campaign.
Region Commander Brigadier General Md Ziaul Haque encouraged the locals to live a healthy and normal life with a free eye screening camp.
The Bangladesh Army has been providing all-out support to the people of Chattogram Hill Tracts and will continue to work tirelessly in the future to improve the quality of life of the people of all races and religions, including the ethnic minority people.
