Health adviser seek people's support to suppress discrimination, corruption
Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum has urged the people to support the interim government in its efforts to suppress discrimination and corruption.
"The deep-rooted inequalities have permeated various sectors over the past 16 years. It would be impossible to eradicate these issues within a short span," the adviser said at a meeting with representatives of the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BAPI) at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
"I call upon the people to support the interim government so that we can suppress discrimination and corruption at various levels, including the health sector," she added.
Regarding the recent protests and the injured students, the adviser said, "We will ensure that all injured students receive adequate treatment, and those who require advanced treatment abroad will be sent there.
"The government will bear the responsibility for the treatment of the injured students and those who have lost their lives."
