Hearing on writ petition against SP Harun adjourned
The court asked the petitioner to submit report over the allegations brought against Harun to the Anti-Corruption Commission
The High Court (HC) today adjourned the hearing on the writ petition filed against Superintendent of Police Harun Or Rashid over allegations of corruption and misuse of power.
A high court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order.
Lawyer of Supreme Court Advocate Saleh Uddin filed the petition based on the reports published in different newspapers.
Controversial SP Harun has been transferred to the Police Headquarters recently over allegations, including misuse of power and involvement in extortion, land grabbing and kidnapping.
The court asked the petitioner to submit report over the allegations brought against Harun to the Anti-Corruption Commission. If they don't take any steps, the apex court will take the matter into its concern.
Deputy Attorney General Tushar Kanti Roy represented the state.
