A man and his wife were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a leguna in Nimtola area on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway in Munshiganj.

The deceased are Nirmol Chakraborti, 40, and his wife Kanok Chakraborti, 35. They were the residents of Barishal district.

Hasara highway police station Officer-in-Charge Kanchon Kumar Singh said Nirmol and his wife died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital this afternoon.

The pickup and leguna were seized by the police, he added.
