'I feel a little guilty that I could not directly participate'
I was always active in mobilising public opinion, influencing countries to support us through policy making and raising funds for the Liberation War
Actually, I was in America back then to complete my post-graduation. In the evening, I got the news that we are now free and have earned victory. I cannot express how great that feeling was.
I clearly remember that I was at peace thinking that the people of my country would not be in sorrow anymore. They would be able to breathe in a free country without any worry.
I used to feel a little bit of guilt as I could not directly participate in the Liberation War, maybe that is why I was more emotionally attached.
In America, I was always active in mobilising public opinion, influencing countries to support us through policy making and raising funds for the Liberation War.
However, after hearing the news, I felt that I could take a little bit rest now and so could the people of my country.
