Ijtema: Zubair's followers to organise first phase, second by Saad’s
The first phase of the Ijtema will be held from 31 January to 2 February and the second phase will be held from 7-9 February
The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema will be organised by the followers of Maulana Zubair Ahmad and the second phase by the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi.
The decision follows a consensus between the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat to hold the upcoming Biswa Ijtema, on the bank of Turag River, in Tongi in two phases.
According to a media statement issued by Shura-e-Nezam (followers of Maulana Zubair) today (17 November), the first phase of the Ijtema will be held from 31 January to 2 February under the Shura-e-Nezam and the second phase will be held from 7-9 February by the followers of Maulana Saad.
On November 12, a meeting was held between the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi and Maulana Zubair Ahmad, attended by advisers from the home and religious affairs ministries. During the meeting, it was decided that control of the Kakrail Mosque and arrangements for the upcoming Biswa Ijtema will be shared between the two factions.
However, Maulana Saad will not come to Bangladesh to join the Ijtema, said a press release issued by Ulama-Mashayekh Bangladesh.
