India's actions will determine its future relations with Bangladesh: Sarjis Alam
Over the past 16 years, India has supported the Awami League to exploit Bangladesh, he alleges
The relations between Bangladesh and India will reflect that of neighbours, but whether it turns sour will depend on India's actions, Sarjis Alam, general secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, said today (6 December).
Speaking at a press briefing at the Malotinagar Staff Quarter in Bogura city's Bot Tola area, he alleged, "Over the past 16 years, India has supported the Awami League to exploit Bangladesh."
"The people of Bangladesh will no longer allow such opportunities," he said.
The student leader further said, "Some spineless Indian media outlets are running communal propaganda and spreading incitement through certain media channels in West Bengal, India."
Sharing his first impressions of Bogura, Sarjis, also a key coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said, "Bogura seems to have been discriminated against for the past 16 years due to its name.
"Among the 64 districts, Bogura has seen no development during this period."
