Interim govt takes responsibility of state reforms: Asif

Adviser for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said the interim government has taken responsibility for carrying out state reform in line with the aspirations of the people of the country.
"People's aspiration for reforming the state has been deepening after the fall of the autocratic government through student-led mass uprising," he told this while Assistant Secretary-General Prof Luis Gabriel Franceschi paid a courtesy call on him at his ministry conference room at the Secretariat today (18 November).
The adviser said the people of the country are united to extend their support to the government for performing state reform work to build a new Bangladesh, according to a press release.
The commonwealth assistant secretary-general has assured to provide support to the interim government.
He also appreciated the Bangladesh Women's Football team for winning the SAFF championship recently.
Youth and sports secretary Md Rezaul Maksud Zahedi and acting secretary of the LGRD division, Md Nazrul Islam, were present during the meeting.
Prof Luis Gabriel Franceschi is on a four-day visit to Bangladesh to hold discussions with various dignitaries of the interim government.
