'It's a plot against Shakib'
In a Facebook post, Shishir claimed that the media is “highlighting only the anger he showed”.
While the all-rounder cricket player Shakib Al Hasan has already apologised for showing anger at the Abahani-Mohammedan match, his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir, called the incident "a plot against him".
In a Facebook post, Shishir claimed that the media is "highlighting only the anger he showed". She also said that "the main issue is the ongoing eye-catching decisions of the umpires!"
The post published in the early hours of Saturday reads, "I'm enjoying this incident as much as the media is, finally some news on tv! It is great to see the support of the people who can see the clear picture of today's incident at least someone has the guts to stand against all odds. However, it is sad to see the main issue getting buried by the media highlighting only the anger that he showed. The main issue is the ongoing eye-catching decisions of the umpires! The headlines are really saddening. To me, it is a plot against him that has been going on for a while to portray him as the villain in all circumstances! If you are a cricket lover beware of your actions!"
Yesterday, in the ongoing Dhaka Premier match between Abahani and Mohammedan, an angry Mohammedan skipper Shakib Al Hasan lost his cool and lashed out at the on-field umpire.
During the fifth over of Abahani's batting, Shakib appealed for a leg before but the umpire gave his opposite number Mushfiqur Rahim not out. Shakib was absolutely certain that it was out and kicked the stumps in anger.
He, however, apologised for the misbehaviour on his Facebook handle.
