JMB leader Nasiruddin dies of ‘heart attack’ in Sathkhira jail
He was suspected of being involved in the 2005 series bombings
Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) leader Nasiruddin Dafadar, suspected of being involved in the 2005 series bombings across the country, has died of heart complications.
He was taken to the Sathkhira Sadar Hospital after he fell sick at the Sathkhira jail on Thursday morning, but the on-duty doctor declared him "brought dead".
Police arrested Nasiruddin on August 17, 2005, the day militants rattled the nation through a series of coordinated blasts and suicide bombings. He has been in jail since then.

Sathkhira jail Superintendent Abu Taher said, "Nasiruddin had been suffering from heart disease for a long time."
In 2005, around 500 bomb explosions occurred in 300 locations around the country. JMB later claimed responsibility for the attacks. Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami, another militant outfit, was said to have been involved in the attacks as well.
The government later banned both the groups following the terrorist attacks.
