Keraniganj fire: Death toll climbs to 21
A total of 11 burn injured of the fire incident are currently undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital
Another victim of Keraniganj plastic factory fire succumbed to his injuries at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night, raising the death toll to 21.
The deceased was identified as Mofizul Islam (45).
Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of the burn and plastic surgery institute, told The Business Standard, Mofizul had 45 percent burn injuries.
A total of 11 burn injured of the fire incident are currently undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Among them, three were being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. The rest eight were receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital burn unit.
A devastating fire broke out at Prime Pet and Plastic Industries at a residential area of Chunkutia in Keraniganj on December 11, killing one on the spot and injuring 33 others.
So far, 21 of them succumbed to their injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
