Legal notice served seeking mobile court drive against relief theft
The notice sender suggests amending sections 6 and 8 of Mobile Court Act
A Supreme Court lawyer has sent a legal notice to the secretaries of law ministry and home ministry seeking mobile court action against those involved in theft of relief rice.
The lawyer, Mohammad Moniruzzaman Linkon, emailed the notice to the authorities on Monday.
He requested the government to take steps in this regard within seven days.

"Otherwise, legal measures will be taken," reads the notice.
"Due to coronavirus outbreak, many people are unable to earn their livelihood now. Besides, people, who live hand to mouth, have become dependent on the government relief. So the government is giving them aids. But I am observing with great sorrow that many people are stealing the relief rice. They are not listening to the higher authorities' warning. So in this circumstance, it has become mandatory to ensure exemplary punishment to those people," says the notice.
The notice sender has suggested amending sections 6 and 8 of Mobile Court Act and conducting mobile court drives against those who will misappropriate relief goods.
