A section of lawyers today (7 October) submitted a memorandum to the chief justice demanding immediate removal of the highly corrupt and partisan judges of the High Court.
A delegation under the banner of general lawyers formed a human chain and handed over a memorandum titled "Charter of demand to the Chief Justice" led by senior lawyers Mohsin Rashid and Syed Mamun Mahbub.
Advocate Mamun Mahbub told BSS that they will publish a list of 30 identified corrupt and partisan judges with their photos on October 17 after convening press conference if they are not removed or resigned willingly from the judiciary.
The lawyers in their memorandum claimed that they got second independence from the fascist rule through the July-August movement.
Terming the Chief Justice as the guardian of the judiciary, they said that a section of corrupt and partisan judges, who were the supporters and accomplices of the fascist government, have been occupying the high court, judicial administration and the lower judiciary.
"Our hearts bleed when we still see the partisan judges at various positions in the judiciary," they said.
So, the corrupt and politically biased judges should be removed or resigned from their posts to make the sacrifice of July uprising martyrs meaningful.
