Maldivian President pays respect to Bangabandhu
Earlier, he visited National Martyrs' Memorial at Savar and paid homage to the heroes of the Liberation War
President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his birth anniversary.
He paid tribute by placing a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Earlier, he visited National Martyrs' Memorial at Savar and paid homage to the heroes of the Liberation War.
In the afternoon, the Maldivian President will attend a special programme at the National Parade Square (Ground) in Tejgaon.
Marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the Golden Jubilee of the Independence of the country, a 10-day special programme will begin at the National Parade Ground today.
The Maldivian President, as part of his Bangladesh visit, will pay a courtesy call on the Bangladeshi President at the Credential Hall of the Bangabhaban at 7 pm on Thursday.
Ibrahim Mohamed Solih would sign the visitors' book at Bangabhaban. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are scheduled to be signed between the two countries.
Later, the Maldivian President will join the dinner and cultural programme hosted by Bangladesh's head of the state at Durbar Hall Ground of the Bangabhaban.
