‘Man killed by cousin’ over spitting in Brahmanbaria
Police arrested two people in this connection
A young man was allegedly killed by his cousin in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila over spitting on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ruhel, 30, son of Liakat Ali, resident of Mogoltula village.
Quoting to local sources, Sarail police inspector Kabir Hossain said that Ruhel's cousin Kauser spat in front of his house on Tuesday morning which led to an argument between Kawser and Ruhel's mother Zarina Begum.
Sequel to the argument, they again locked into an altercation in the evening which triggered a fierce clash between two families.
At one stage, Kauser's brother Abu Bakkar hit Ruhel with a teta (locally made sharp weapon), leaving him critically injured.
Ruhel was later rushed to the Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital in critical condition where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police arrested two people in this connection. The arrestees are Ruhel's uncle Gendu Mia and Momena Begum.
"Attempts are being made to arrest the main accused Kauser and Bakkar," said Inspector Hossain.
