Man killed in road crash 3 days before wedding in Cox's Bazar
A man was killed in a road accident in Cox's Bazar's Chakaria today (17 January), three days before his wedding.
The incident took place in the Baluchar area of Dulahazara union on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway this morning, said Md Mehedi Hasan, inspector in-charge of Highway Police's Malumghat outpost.
The deceased, Humayun Kabir alias Lokman, 30, is the son of Bashir Ahmed of Dulahazara union. He was working as a security guard at Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital.
Rezaul Karim, a cousin of the deceased, said, "Lokman was supposed to get married on 20 January. This morning, he left home on a motorbike to run some errands for the wedding.
"He was heading towards Chakaria station when a Cox's Bazar-bound passenger bus hit his motorbike, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rescued him and took him to Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead."
