Domestic workers to return to Kuwait from 24 Dec

The expatriates stuck outside Kuwait due to the novel Covid-19 pandemic are now returning to the country via the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Around four lakh 26 thousand 871 expatriates from different countries were outside Kuwait on holiday because of Covid-19, among whom about 25,000 are Bangladeshis.
A local English daily "Arab Times," in its online edition said that the Kuwaiti government has provided domestic workers with the opportunity to return to the country by direct flight in the first phase.
As a result, Indian and Filipino citizens are returning to Kuwait from 14 December while Bangladeshi expatriates holding the domestic workers' visa ''Khadem,'' will directly return from 24 December.
With 600 domestic workers returning to Kuwait every day, it is estimated that it will take more than four months for about 80,000 domestic workers who are currently outside the country to return.
