Mirpur-10 metro rail station to resume operation this month: DMTCL
A trial run is scheduled to take place after 11-12 October as part of the reopening efforts
The closed Mirpur-10 metro rail station will resume operations by this month, according to metro rail operator Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
"Efforts are underway to reopen Mirpur-10 station by this month. The reopening will take place in the second half of October," Khondaker Ehteshamul Kabir, company secretary of DMTCL, told The Business Standard today (8 October).
He said a trial run is scheduled to take place after 11-12 October as part of the reopening efforts.
During the anti-discrimination student movement's complete shutdown programme on 18 July, miscreants vandalised Mirpur-10 and Kazipara metro stations which led to the immediate closure of the stations.
Later, the authorities suspended the metro service for an indefinite period. After a 37-day suspension, metro rail resumed operations on 25 August. But the Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations remained closed due to damage from the protests.
While the Kazipara station resumed operations on 20 September, the Mirpur-10 station remained closed.
