Momotaz awarded honorary doctorate degree in India
In recognition of her longstanding contribution, Global Human Peace University in Tamil Nadu, India conferred the award
Eminent folk artiste and Member of Parliament Momotaz Begum has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree in India.
Global Human Peace University in Tamil Nadu, India honoured her with the award on 10 April.
They mentioned that as the first artist in the world, Mumtaz has taken herself to another height by recording more than 700 solo albums, presenting Bengali songs to the world for 30 long years and engaging in various activities besides social service.
Recognising all these contributions, they awarded her with the 'Doctor of Music' medal on Saturday through a special ceremony. The founder and chairman of the university P Manuel handed over the medal.
