More research needed on Bangabandhu’s life and legacy: FM
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday has said that further research is needed on Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life and legacy.
"Bangabandhu was a visionary. We need to research his life, legacy and history," he said while inaugurating the "Bangabandhu Lecture Series" marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister noted that the initiative is a "historic series" that has been started in the "historic" month of December.

He highlighted that the Foreign Ministry has co-founded Bangabandhu Research Centre for Foreign Policy and Diplomacy to conduct further research into Bangabandhu's life.
"The country that was known as the bottomless basket is now a vibrant economy," he said expressing his satisfaction about the prosperity of the country.
However, he urged the country's people to engage themselves in achieving the target of building a better nation.
"By 2041 we will achieve Sonar Bangla, the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," he added.
The minister also noted that in the Mujib year, Bangladesh established 68 Bangabandhu corners out of 78 missions all over the globe.
Momen also said that the government has proposed to organise the World Peace Conference on the 50th anniversary of victory in 2021.
Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith made the keynote presentation in the program.
Dr Gowher Rizvi, Adviser to the Prime Minister on international affairs attended the program as the discussant.
