Mujib100 app launches
The app was created to provide Bangladesh’s present and future generations information about the life and work of Bangabandhu
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, on Sunday, officially launched Mujib100, an initiative of the ICT Division to highlight the history of Bangabandhu's philosophy and life of struggle.
The Mujib100 app, created under the Skills Development Project for Mobile Games and Applications, is a mobile version of a website named mujib100.gov.bd, created by the ICT Division as a part of various programmes organised across the country to celebrate Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
The app includes: important events in Bangabandhu's life, documentaries about him, numerous speeches – including historic speeches on 7 March, letters, and autobiographical books.
The photo archive section of the app contains pictures of different periods of Bangabandhu's life. Additionally, updates on various celebrations of Mujib's centenary can be found under the "Events" feature of the app.
At the inauguration, the state minister said that one of the aims of this app is to give a detailed idea about the life and work of Bangabandhu to the present and future generations of the country.
"Mujib is a reflection of eternity. I call upon the young generation to follow Bangabandhu's lifestyle and apply it in their own lives. The app will be useful for those who want to research Bangabandhu and know the details about his life philosophy," said the state minister.
The latest technology is used in the app, which is evident from its features like augmented reality and virtual reality. Further, the app contains a variety of content such as: statements made by world leaders about Bangabandhu, the theme song of Mujib's centenary, the graphic novel "Mujib," etc.
It also has various quotes by Bangabandhu, reflecting his perceptions of political and personal life. These could inspire the youth.
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store and can be used online and offline with very little bandwidth. The app can be used in both Bengali and English.
The inaugural function was conducted by Anwarul Islam, project director, Mobile Game and Application Development Project.
Dr Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, additional secretary of Planning and Development wing of the ICT Division, delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
