National flag hoisted marking Chattogram Port Day
Port Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan wished all those present on the occasion
Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority, on Sunday morning hoisted the national flag on the Bandar Bhaban premises marking the Chattogram Port Day.
Md Zafar Alam, member (Admin and Planning) of the port, and all department heads and collective bargaining agent (CBA) leaders were present at the flag hoisting ceremony, read a press release.
Rear Admiral M Shahjahan wished all those present on the occasion of the Chattogram Port Day.
In a brief speech, he said that the officials, employees and workers of the Chattogram Port are working 24/7 amid the lockdown in the interest of keeping the supply chain of the country uninterrupted.
The port chairman thanked the officials and employees for their relentless efforts amid the lockdown put in place to fight the coronavirus disease.
In the interest of keeping the wheel of the country's economy in motion, Rear Admiral M Shahjahan called upon the officials and employees of the port to work relentlessly in compliance with the safety rules against the deadly coronavirus.
Sunday, April 25, is the 134th founding anniversary of Chattogram Port.
Although, in other years, the founding anniversary of the port was celebrated through various arrangements, the port authorities did not have much formality this time due to the coronavirus.
